Within UHY Advisors' experienced eDiscovery Project Team, we understand that not every case will be large and require the full range of services we provide. In fact, a good portion of the cases we assist our clients with are smaller in scope . We are, however, keenly aware that even small projects cannot be construed as minor.
More often than not, our small project work leads us to assist clients with a process that we call Rapid Conversion. This process may involve the acquisition of data, restoration of the acquired media, and the subsequent culling through the use of our deduplication methodologies, date restriction mechanisms, and/or the application of search terms.
In some cases, our clients will send us media containing data that has been collected and ask us to cull it per their specifications. This is often returned in the form of a Summation, Concordance, or similar load file, which can then be placed into their internal system and reviewed.
UHY Advisors' rapid culling and conversion services can include any of the following elements:
- Targeted acquisition of potentially relevant data stores or the delivery of already collected media to our lab.
- Cataloging and assisting with subsequent restoration of select files from the media in our possession.
- Helping with the extraction of files per client directions.
- Implementing the application of deduplication processes, search terms, and other mechanisms to reasonably cull the extracted data set to a more reasonable review set.
- Creation of native Concordance, Summation, Litigators Notebook (JFS), Ringtail, Introspect, or other types of non-standard load files, complete with underlying text so that the data set can be loaded into the client's in-house system for review or further searching and culling.
- Conversion of the culled data set to TIFF or PDF, the endorsement of the images with Bates and/or confidentiality stamps, and the creation of Summation, Concordance, Ringtail, JFS, Introspect, or other types of load files for delivery to the client's in-house Litigation Support Team.
These services are invaluable in those cases where the quantity of data is too large to handle completely in-house, yet too small to send to a traditional eDiscovery vendor for hosting.
