Our Core Ideology

UHY Advisors is ranked as one of the Top 20 professional services firms in the United States. As part of the firm, the eDiscovery & Digital Forensic team adheres to very strict reporting techniques, all of which are based on simple accounting methodologies.  We strictly account for each piece of client data that is entrusted to us for processing. We are not a “black box” operation and believe in complete and full disclosure of our processing stages.  Upon the completion of any data processing project, each of our clients receives a report that identifies how many “items” were entrusted to our care, the number of items that were processed, the number of items that could not be processed due to encryption, corruption or other similar data event, and the number of items that “fell out” of the processing solution as the culling procedures were executed.

At the end of any project, each of our clients is provided with a report that identifies what happened to each data element, enabling them to closely monitor our processes and identify any abnormalities that may have occurred.  Our eDiscovery team also uses this same report to identify any “issues” that we may encounter during the processing stage of any project.  When we detect quantities of data that are reacting to our processing in a way that is not expected, it triggers a QC event, allowing us to further research and identify data-related issues.

Planning is the key to the successful eDiscovery & Digital Forensic elements of litigation. The most defensible way to build an accurate and timely plan is to base it on accurate reporting.   The UHY Advisors eDiscovery & Digital Forensics practice group knows from experience that reporting to clients on every aspect of the process is essential to success.

The UHY Advisors team also believes that reporting needs to be clean, accurate and not duplicative.  In keeping with this thought pattern, UHY Advisors has developed a reporting process that follows the eDiscovery life cycle.

Reports that are generated during the forensic stages of the matter are migrated to the next stage of the process to ensure an accurate “handoff” between the Forensic and eDiscovery teams – a point where a lot of vendors that offer the full lifecycle of services fail.   UHY Advisors adds new elements to reports based on the original information so our clients can easily understand the data handling process as it moves from one stage to another.  This streamlined approach allows our clients to reduce the often burdensome costs that are associated with custom reporting.

Our professionals look forward to working with you and your clients to navigate through the potentially complex electronic discovery world and we are more than happy to share sample reports with your team.
