Cloud Computing has been getting a lot of attention these days whether it be for the storage of personal data, or the management of documents, infrastructure, and software applications for multinational corporations. Two articles have been published on the topic in Law Technology News in just the last month. Companies with an ever-increasing volume of data to manage are being faced with a tough decision. The benefits of managing data via the cloud are enormous from a cost perspective, but need to be balanced with many of the unknown risks involved when your data becomes subject to litigation.

In Search of Better E-Discovery Methods

After the jump is a fascinating article published in the New York Law Journal almost a year ago that is still relevant today. The authors conclude, with the aid of empirical evidence, that iterative search methods which rely on Boolean and keyword searches are still the most efficent means to navigate the voluminous nature of ediscovery.
